Berkshire Wedding Photography

There are so many good causes out there these days that no matter where you go there is always someone collecting money. Apart from when I was a wee lad I don’t think I’ve ever had the desire to join in raising money for something. Well today that changed, one of my Grooms (Lee) sent me an email about Movember and after much gnashing and wailing (by my lovely wife) I decided to take part.

Reading the blurb in his invitation email spurred me on: Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK, 35,000 men are diagnosed every year, one man dies every hour and scarily 1 in 11 UK men will be diagnosed in their lifetime, you realise that there is a large chance that someone you know could be affected by this cancer and it’s not just up to other people to raise money.

The brief premise behind the event is as follows: I must start the month of November clean shaven, from then on I must grow a moustache, I am not allowed to grow a beard or a goatee, however a small growth under my bottom lip is allowed and this is apparently called a “tickler”

Now being a photographer this also gives me a little project, so every day I will be updating a self portrait slideshow with my progress so that you can all have a good laugh at my expense!

The slide show page is here

Whilst I don’t mind the laughter, I’d also appreciate your donations so if you fancy donating then please click here

Visiting the Family

Personal • 10th August 2008

Cassandra and I popped down to visit my parents in Sutton Poyntz, Dorset over the weekend. With me covering weddings over weekends and Cassandra working during the week it severely limits the time we have to see people, so it was nice to be able to spend the whole weekend with them.

Family is important to me and one thing I’m aware of, especially being a photographer, is that you can never have enough photographs of your family. I’m pretty sure by now that my family are fed up of the site of me behind a camera though!

Before going out for a beer I managed to rope them into a quick group session and almost got my Dad to behave (almost!)
